Shopping for a new wagon in 2025? You’re part of a shrinking but savvy crowd. Although crossovers dominate driveways, station wagons quietly continue to offer a compelling mix of comfort, space, road manners, and style. Whether you want a family cruiser, a high-speed missile, or something that handles gravel trails with ease—this list has it.
Here are ten standout wagons that prove practicality and performance can still ride on the same chassis.

2024 Audi A4 allroad – Luxury Meets Utility

MSRP: $48,695

Sleek and upscale without going overboard on cost, the A4 allroad blends premium features with everyday usability. A 261-horsepower turbo-four drives all four wheels through Audi’s Quattro system. It’ll reach 60 mph in a brisk 5.5 seconds, making it as fun as it is functional.

2024 Audi A6 allroad – Spacious and Sophisticated

MSRP: $70,395
For those who crave more room and refinement, the A6 allroad delivers. A 335-horsepower mild-hybrid V6 provides strong, smooth acceleration. Standard tech includes a Bang & Olufsen audio setup and all-wheel grip, reinforcing its grand-touring credentials.

2024 Audi RS 6 Avant – Wagon with a Wild Side

MSRP: $126,895
Combining absurd speed with everyday comfort, the RS 6 Avant is no ordinary family hauler. A twin-turbo V8 throws down 621 horsepower, sending this five-door rocket to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. A new GT variant arrives for 2025, clad in carbon fiber with retro livery—limited to just 660 units globally.

2025 BMW M5 Touring – Electrified Powerhouse

MSRP: $122,675
BMW’s newest M5 Touring packs 717 horses and 738 lb-ft, courtesy of a plug-in hybrid system that includes 25 miles of EV-only range. Despite its 5,530-pound heft, it charges from 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds. With nearly 58 cubic feet of cargo space, this wagon is equal parts speed and utility.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 All-Terrain – Rugged Elegance

MSRP: $72,400
The latest E-Class wagon leans into adventure with the All-Terrain badge. A 375-horsepower mild-hybrid inline-six provides plenty of grunt, while standard 4Matic all-wheel drive makes it more capable when the road gets rough. An AMG edition is rumored to follow.

2024 Mini Clubman – Farewell to a Compact Icon

MSRP: $33,645
2024 marks the final year for the quirky Clubman. Available in both Cooper S and JCW trims, this small wagon can generate up to 301 horsepower and still returns over 30 mpg on the highway. Its tight proportions and playful character will be missed.

2024 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo – All-Electric Adventure

MSRP: $113,095
The Taycan Cross Turismo is where high-tech meets high-speed. It starts at 375 horsepower and goes all the way to a blistering 750 horsepower in Overboost mode (Turbo S trim). With sleek styling and no tailpipe emissions, it’s the ultimate electric wagon for the performance-minded.

2025 Subaru Outback – Utility for the Real World

MSRP: $30,240
The Outback remains a rugged, reliable option for those who value versatility. Standard AWD, up to 9.5 inches of ground clearance, and a practical interior layout make this lifted long-roof one of the best SUV alternatives on sale.

2024 Volvo V60 – Scandinavian Chic Meets Performance

MSRP: $51,695
Stylish yet practical, the V60 offers two distinct flavors: the Cross Country for soft-road duties, and the Polestar Engineered variant for serious power. The latter uses a plug-in hybrid setup with 455 horses, up to 41 electric miles, and fuel efficiency that impresses for the segment.

2024 Volvo V90 Cross Country – Refined and Ready for Adventure

MSRP: $61,195
The larger V90 is offered only as a Cross Country model in the U.S., designed for poor weather and weekend escapes. It includes AWD, 7.9 inches of clearance, a 295-horsepower mild-hybrid engine, and 3,500 lbs of towing capability. It’s ideal for buyers who want something polished but not pretentious.
